The trade and industry has been urged to comply with the
Goods and Services Tax (GST), which is going to be implemented in 2010.
Addressing the panel discussion on ‘GST – Sectoral
implications and industry preparedness' organised by the
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Thursday,
Mr P N Rao, Commissioner (IV) of Customs and Central
Excise (Andhra Pradesh), has said that there were
incidences of non-compliance as the tax rates were
considered to be very high by the industry.
Mr Laxmiprasad, Additional Commissioner (Commercial
Taxes, Andhra Pradesh), has said the list of exemptions
would be minimal in GST.
