Sources said the Finance
Ministry may consider a Constitutional amendment for introducing a fourth list.
The fourth list being considered is for introducing GST and is likely to contain
items taxed under GST. The Union, state concurrent lists demarcate Centre-state
powers.
The fourth list is one of
the alternatives being considered, sources said. The other alternatives include
bringing back Article 278, which gives legislative powers to a government body.
The authority is to ensure adherence to the GST rate among states.
