"We never imagined such immodest and inhuman behaviour from a
learned and a senior government official," said
R K Agarwal, president, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alleged that
P K Sinha, assistant commissioner, commercial tax, Jamshedpur circle, snatched
microphone from him on the dais when he began mentioning issues about the
shortcomings in the system and non-cooperative attitude of the officials. "It's
very sad that the senior most official of the department Tiwary reacted casually
on the issue," said Agarwal.
Demanding immediate suspension of the officer and an inquiry into the matter,
Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA) president R K Sinha said, "If the
officer is not suspended immediately, we will meet chief minister Arjun Munda
soon and also announce our future course of action."
The traders claimed that the representatives of Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Lafarge
Cement, Jharkhand Industries Association and other corporate and business bodies
boycotted the meeting at the fag end of the session.
Ranjan Sinha, deputy commissioner, Jamshedpur circle, denied the allegation of
Agarwal. "Since the conference was officially over, Agarwal was just prevented
from raising issues afresh on the dais. There is no question of misconduct,"
said Sinha. P K Sinha was, however, not available for comments.
