Khanduri govt waives off VAT on petrol price in
Uttarakhand
A day after the UPA government hiked the prices of
petrol, BC Khanduri government on Friday night decided
to waive off 25 per cent VAT on increased prices which
the state government was supposed to get, with immediate
effect.
The decision to exempt VAT was taken at a meeting of top
officials chaired by Uttarakhand CM Khanduri. Government
decision to this effect will help reduce the price of
petrol by 78 paise per litre.
Government sources said petrol price had increased by
Rs.3 per litre from Rs 66.10 to Rs .69.37 per litre will
cost Rs 68.59 per litre after reduction of 78 paise.
