The application would be accepted in all the constituents across
the state. However, special centres would be set up in six biggest cities,
namely Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar, he added.
Besides the photograph, an individual or organisation will have to submit any
one of the following documents Passport, Election Card, PAN Card, Driving
Licence or UID. The Election Card will be needed for residential proof, and also
the last Electricity or Landline Phone Bill.
For business, the applicant has to submit Tax Bill of Municipal Corporation,
Nagarpalika or Gram Panchayat for ownership or rented premises, copy of
Sub-Registrar’s Document, Rent Lease Agreement, Certificate of `Gumastadhara’,
Certificate of Registrar of Companies for Private/Public Limited, related
documents for Partnership/HUF, as applicable.
The Minister said that Permanent VAT number would be issued after physical
verification of the workplace within 60 days of issuing the provisional number.
In case, the Permanent Number could not be issued within 60 days, the
Provisional Number will automatically be converted into Permanent one.
Immediate changes would be incorporated in the rules and regulations, if found
necessary, he added.
