Andhra Pradesh - No VAT on inter-state sale of textiles

The state government has clarified that there would be no tax on the inter-state sale of textiles from Andhra Pradesh.

Commissioner for commercial taxes Suresh Chanda held a meeting with the Andhra Pradesh Federation of Textile Associations, an apex body of a large number of regional textile associations on Monday.
 

 

Textile dealers with an annual turnover below `5 lakh have been exempted from the tax whereas dealers with an annual turnover below `40 lakh will be levied tax at the rate of only 1 percent.

There will be no tax on fabrics, textiles, zari and embroidery articles.
