Sub:- KVAT Act, 2003- Registration of Parcel /Courier, Clearing and Transporting agencies – further instructions-issued-reg

Read: Circular No. 33/06/CT Dated 11.10.06 and 32/2007 Dated 30-7-2007.

As per the Circulars read above instructions were issued with regard to the registration of Parcel /Courier, Clearing and Transporting agencies. They were also provided with a facility for e-filing of the details of the consignments transported by them so that they can minimize the delay in clearance at the check posts. In the said Circulars it was interalia decided that the registration shall be taken with the Commercial Tax Office under whose territorial jurisdiction their Head office functions in the State.

The issue has been reviewed and in view of providing better convenience to the said categories for the purpose of taking out registration the Inspecting Assistant Commissioners of the Commercial Tax check Posts at Amaravila, Walayar and Bengra Manjeswaram and Commercial Tax Officer, Commercial Tax check Post Aryankavu are also authorized to issue registration for these categories following the instructions already issued, irrespective of the place of functioning of head office in the state, with immediate effect. 

The Circulars read above will stand modified to the above effect.
